Job Description

The State of Massachusetts is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Juvenile Justice Youth Development Specialist I. In this role, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing programs and services for at-risk youth, helping them to achieve positive outcomes and become productive members of society.   1. Develop and implement programs and services for at-risk youth in the juvenile justice system.
  2. Conduct research and analysis to inform program development and identify areas for improvement.
  3. Collaborate with stakeholders, including government agencies, community organizations, and youth advocates, to identify needs and develop effective solutions.
  4. Provide individualized support and guidance to youth in the juvenile justice system.
  5. Advocate for the needs and rights of at-risk youth and work towards improving the juvenile justice system.
  6. Stay updated on current trends and best practices in the field of juvenile justice to continuously improve program offerings.
  7. Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement.
  8. Provide training and support to staff and volunteers working with at-risk youth.
  9. Maintain accurate records and documentation of program activities and participant progress.
  10. Communicate effectively with youth, families, and stakeholders to build rapport and promote positive outcomes.
  11. Promote a safe and supportive environment for youth in the juvenile justice system.
  12. Serve as a role model and mentor for at-risk youth, promoting positive behavior and personal development.
  13. Adhere to all laws, regulations, and policies related to juvenile justice and youth development.
  14. Collaborate with other agencies and departments to ensure the seamless delivery of services to at-risk youth.
  15. Actively participate in meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.

Job Qualifications
  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Work With Youth, Families, And Community Partners.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology, Or A Related Field.

  • At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working With At-Risk Youth Or In The Juvenile Justice System.

  • Knowledge Of State And Federal Laws, Regulations, And Policies Related To Juvenile Justice And Youth Development.

  • Ability To Collaborate With Interdisciplinary Teams And Provide Case Management Services To Youth Involved In The Juvenile Justice System.
