Job Description

Welcome to the State of Massachusetts, where we are dedicated to supporting the growth and development of our youth. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Juvenile Justice Youth Development Specialist I. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young individuals who are involved in the juvenile justice system. We are looking for someone who is passionate about promoting rehabilitation and providing guidance and support to at-risk youth. If you have a strong understanding of adolescent development and a commitment to social justice, we encourage you to apply for this important position.

  1. Develop and implement programs and services that support the growth and development of youth involved in the juvenile justice system.
  2. Provide guidance and support to at-risk youth, including counseling and mentoring.
  3. Promote rehabilitation and positive behavior change through evidence-based practices.
  4. Collaborate with community partners to ensure a comprehensive network of resources for youth.
  5. Conduct assessments and create individualized treatment plans for each youth.
  6. Monitor and track progress of youth in the program and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
  7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all interactions and interventions with youth.
  8. Communicate effectively with youth, their families, and other team members to ensure a coordinated approach to their care.
  9. Stay informed on current research and best practices in juvenile justice and adolescent development.
  10. Uphold ethical standards and maintain confidentiality in all interactions with youth and their families.
  11. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
  12. Work collaboratively with other agency staff to ensure a safe and supportive environment for youth.
  13. Adhere to all state and federal regulations and guidelines related to working with youth in the juvenile justice system.
  14. Act as an advocate for youth and promote social justice and equity in all aspects of the job.
  15. Maintain a positive and professional attitude and represent the agency and its mission in a positive light.

Job Qualifications
  • Knowledge Of State And Federal Laws, Regulations, And Policies Related To Juvenile Justice And Youth Development.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Social Work, Criminal Justice, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience Working With At-Risk Youth In A Juvenile Justice Setting.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Engage And Build Rapport With Youth And Their Families.

  • Ability To Work Effectively In A Team Setting, Collaborate With Other Professionals, And Handle Confidential Information With Discretion.
