Job Description

The State of Massachusetts is currently seeking a skilled and experienced District Court Paralegal to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to our attorneys and assist with the efficient operation of the district courts.   1. Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to assist attorneys in building strong cases.
  2. Prepare and file court documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs, in a timely and accurate manner.
  3. Maintain organized and up-to-date case files, ensuring all relevant documents and information are easily accessible.
  4. Communicate with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in cases to gather necessary information and provide updates on case status.
  5. Schedule and coordinate meetings, depositions, and court appearances for attorneys.
  6. Assist attorneys in preparing for trials and hearings, including organizing exhibits and evidence.
  7. Maintain a thorough understanding of court procedures and rules, and ensure all filings and actions comply with them.
  8. Use electronic case management systems to track case progress and update information as needed.
  9. Handle administrative tasks, such as billing, timekeeping, and maintaining calendars for attorneys.
  10. Collaborate with other paralegals and legal staff to ensure efficient and effective operation of the district courts.
  11. Stay informed of any changes in laws and regulations that may impact current or future cases.
  12. Provide excellent customer service to clients and the court system, demonstrating a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
  13. Maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information.
  14. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to continuously improve skills and stay current with legal procedures.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Paralegal Studies Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Paralegal In A District Court Setting.
