Child Nutrition Program Consultant

This is a federally funded time-limited (FFTL) position. This means it is a position that is paid entirely as the result of a federal grant. Under general direction, interprets and applies rules and regulations as they relate to the Summer Food Service Program. Provides consultative services and technical assistance to sponsors of the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) in the implementation of program requirements and best practices to improve program effectiveness. Develops, plans, conducts and evaluates training to educate and better assist sponsors in understanding and meeting program requirements of the Summer Food Service Program. Coordinates workshops and trainings for SFSP administrators across the state. Training platforms will include a variety of formats and may include in- person, electronic and multi-media. Collaborates with partners to develop and implement effective training materials and program guidance. Evaluate and approve application/agreements for program participation and adding to database. Conduct compliance monitoring of sponsors of the Summer Food Service Program. Participate in unscheduled "special request" monitoring or training/technical assistance as requested by program sponsors or department.
