- Provide nursing services to individuals, families, and communities in accordance with the mission and goals of the State of Georgia's Department of Public Health.
- Educate and counsel individuals and groups on health promotion, disease prevention, and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Conduct health screenings and assessments to identify potential health risks and develop appropriate interventions.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement public health programs and initiatives.
- Participate in community outreach and education events to raise awareness about public health issues and resources.
- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing medical procedures, and providing health counseling.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with department policies and procedures.
- Monitor and track disease outbreaks and report findings to appropriate agencies.
- Participate in emergency preparedness and response activities, including disaster relief efforts.
- Stay current on advances in public health nursing practices and incorporate new knowledge and skills into daily work.
- Adhere to all state and federal regulations and guidelines for public health nursing.
- Collaborate with local health departments, community organizations, and healthcare providers to address public health needs.
- Serve as a resource and advocate for vulnerable populations, including low-income individuals, children, and older adults.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and ethical standards in all interactions and activities.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the team and with other departments.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Nursing, Public Health, Or A Related Field.
Current And Valid Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of Georgia.
Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In Public Health Nursing, Preferably In A Governmental Setting.
Knowledge Of State And Federal Public Health Laws, Regulations, And Policies.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Collaborate With Other Healthcare Professionals, Community Organizations, And Individuals From Diverse Backgrounds.
