- Manage and analyze financial information for properties owned by the State of Georgia.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with state regulations and accounting principles.
- Monitor and reconcile property-related financial transactions, including rent payments, expenses, and budgets.
- Prepare and review financial statements and reports for properties, highlighting any discrepancies or areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with property managers and other team members to create and maintain accurate financial records.
- Develop and implement financial controls and procedures to minimize risk and improve efficiency.
- Participate in property audits and provide necessary documentation and support.
- Stay up-to-date on state regulations and industry trends related to property accounting.
- Communicate financial information and analysis to management and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Identify opportunities for cost-saving measures and make recommendations to improve financial performance.
- Train and support other team members on property accounting processes and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.

Bachelor's Degree In Accounting Or Finance: A Property Accountant Specialist At State Of Georgia Should Have At Least A Bachelor's Degree In Accounting Or Finance From An Accredited University.
Certified Public Accountant (Cpa) Designation: Having A Cpa Certification Is Highly Preferred For This Role As It Demonstrates A Strong Understanding Of Accounting Principles And Regulations.
Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Property Accounting: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Property Accounting, Preferably In A Government Or Public Sector Environment.
Knowledge Of Gaap And Gasb Standards: Strong Understanding Of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (Gaap) And Governmental Accounting Standards Board (Gasb) Regulations Is Essential For This Role.
Proficiency In Accounting Software And Microsoft Excel: The Candidate Should Have Experience Working With Accounting Software And Be Proficient In Microsoft Excel. Experience With The State's Financial Management System (Peoplesoft) Is A Plus.
