Job Description

Welcome to the State of Georgia's Physical Education Department! We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Physical Education Teacher to join our team and inspire the next generation of active and healthy individuals.   1. Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and promote physical fitness and wellbeing.
  2. Use a variety of teaching techniques and strategies to engage students of all learning styles and abilities.
  3. Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages participation and fosters a love for movement and sports.
  4. Assess students' physical abilities and provide constructive feedback to help them improve.
  5. Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate physical education into other subject areas and school events.
  6. Keep accurate records of student progress and communicate with parents and guardians regularly.
  7. Stay up-to-date with current trends and research in physical education and implement new ideas and techniques in the classroom.
  8. Enforce safety rules and protocols to ensure the wellbeing of all students during physical activities.
  9. Serve as a mentor and role model for students, promoting positive values and behaviors.
  10. Participate in professional development opportunities to continuously improve teaching skills and stay informed on best practices in physical education.
  11. Foster a supportive and collaborative relationship with colleagues and actively contribute to the school community.
  12. Communicate effectively with administration, colleagues, parents, and students to support student success.
  13. Adhere to all school policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations related to physical education.
  14. Maintain a clean and organized PE classroom and equipment.
  15. Attend and participate in department and school-wide meetings and events.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Physical Education Or Related Field From An Accredited College Or University.

  • Valid Teaching Certification In Physical Education From The Georgia Professional Standards Commission.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Teaching Physical Education At The Elementary, Middle, Or High School Level.

  • Strong Knowledge And Understanding Of Physical Fitness, Sports, And Health Education Principles.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Engage And Motivate Students To Participate In Physical Activities.
