
Parks Program Worker

- Maintain and improve the natural beauty of state parks and recreational areas.
- Perform a variety of physical tasks such as trail maintenance, landscaping, and garbage collection.
- Ensure the safety and cleanliness of park facilities and grounds.
- Assist in the construction and installation of new park features and amenities.
- Monitor and report any maintenance or safety issues to park management.
- Educate visitors about the importance of preserving and protecting the environment.
- Work closely with other team members to complete projects and tasks efficiently.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures while working in the parks.
- Keep accurate records of work completed and materials used.
- Assist with special events and programs held in the parks.
- Attend training and educational programs to enhance knowledge and skills related to park maintenance.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude while representing the state parks and recreational areas.
- Adhere to all state and federal laws and regulations regarding park maintenance and environmental protection.
- Assist in emergency situations, such as natural disasters or park closures.
- Continuously strive to improve and enhance the parks for the enjoyment of future generations.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Of A High School Education Is Required For This Position To Demonstrate Basic Knowledge And Skills.
Previous Experience In Parks Or Recreation: Prior Experience In A Parks Or Recreation Setting, Whether Through Employment Or Volunteer Work, Is Preferred To Understand The Responsibilities And Tasks Of A Parks Program Worker.
Physical Stamina And Endurance: This Position Requires Physical Activity And The Ability To Perform Tasks Such As Walking, Lifting, And Operating Machinery. A Candidate Must Be Able To Meet The Physical Demands Of The Job.
Knowledge Of Park Maintenance And Equipment: Familiarity With Park Maintenance And Equipment, Such As Lawn Mowers, Trimmers, And Hand Tools, Is Necessary To Perform Duties Such As Landscaping, Trail Maintenance, And General Park Upkeep.
Excellent Communication And Customer Service Skills: As A Parks Program Worker, You Will Interact With Park Visitors And Fellow Employees. Strong Communication And Customer Service Skills Are Essential To Handle Inquiries, Provide Information, And Resolve Issues In A Professional And Friendly Manner.
