The State of Georgia is seeking an experienced Information Technology Director to join our team and oversee the development and implementation of IT strategies and initiatives across all state agencies.   1. Develop and implement IT strategies and initiatives for all state agencies in alignment with the state's overall goals and objectives.
  2. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the state's IT infrastructure, ensuring its efficiency, security, and reliability.
  3. Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, providing guidance and support in their professional growth and development.
  4. Stay current with emerging technologies and trends, and make recommendations for their implementation to enhance government services.
  5. Collaborate with agency leaders to identify and prioritize their IT needs, and develop solutions to meet those needs.
  6. Manage the state's IT budget, ensuring proper allocation of resources and cost-effectiveness.
  7. Establish and maintain strong relationships with external vendors, partners, and stakeholders to leverage their expertise and resources.
  8. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to IT security and data privacy.
  9. Serve as a liaison between state agencies and the Office of Information Technology Services to facilitate effective communication and coordination.
  10. Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure minimal disruption in case of a technology failure or emergency.
  11. Evaluate and implement new technologies and processes to improve efficiency, productivity, and innovation in government services.
  12. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback and coaching to team members to promote a high-performing and collaborative work environment.
  13. Represent the state at meetings, conferences, and other events related to IT management and share knowledge and best practices with other leaders in the field.
  14. Prepare and present reports, updates, and recommendations to senior leadership and other stakeholders on the status of IT projects and initiatives.
  15. Continuously monitor and assess the state's IT infrastructure and operations to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes to enhance performance and user experience.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Information Technology, Computer Science, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 10 Years Of Experience In A Leadership Role Within The It Industry.

  • Strong Knowledge And Understanding Of Current And Emerging Technologies, As Well As Industry Best Practices.

  • Proven Track Record Of Successful Project Management And Implementation Of It Initiatives.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Collaborate With Cross-Functional Teams And Communicate Technical Information To Non-Technical Stakeholders.
