Job Description

Welcome to the Mental Health Treatment Mall at the State of Georgia! We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Certified Peer Specialist to join our team. As a Certified Peer Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals with mental health challenges in their journey towards recovery and wellness.   1. Provide support and assistance to individuals with mental health challenges in their journey towards recovery and wellness.
  2. Utilize personal experience and expertise to connect with and motivate individuals.
  3. Act as a role model and mentor for individuals by sharing personal recovery stories and providing hope and encouragement.
  4. Assist in developing individualized treatment plans and goals.
  5. Facilitate group and individual therapy sessions to promote self-awareness, self-advocacy, and coping skills.
  6. Advocate for individuals and help them navigate the mental health system to access necessary resources and services.
  7. Collaborate with other mental health professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for individuals.
  8. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions with individuals.
  9. Continuously update knowledge and skills through ongoing education and training opportunities.
  10. Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development and improvement of treatment programs.
  11. Promote a positive and supportive environment for individuals to foster their recovery.
  12. Communicate effectively and professionally with individuals, their families, and other team members.
  13. Document all interactions and progress notes accurately and in a timely manner.
  14. Comply with all agency policies, procedures, and regulations.
  15. Attend and actively participate in supervision and staff development activities.

Job Qualifications

  • Completion Of A Certified Peer Specialist Training Program: The State Of Georgia Requires Candidates For The Certified Peer Specialist - Mental Health Treatment Mall Job To Have Completed A Recognized Training Program And Received A Certification As A Certified Peer Specialist.

  • Experience As A Peer Support Specialist: Candidates Should Have At Least One Year Of Experience Working As A Peer Support Specialist In A Mental Health Treatment Setting. This Experience Should Demonstrate The Candidate's Ability To Effectively Support Individuals With Mental Health Challenges.

  • Knowledge Of Mental Health Treatment And Resources: The Job Requires Candidates To Have A Strong Understanding Of Mental Health Treatment Options And Resources Available In The State Of Georgia. This Includes Knowledge Of Evidence-Based Practices, Recovery-Oriented Approaches, And Community-Based Support Services.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Certified Peer Specialist, The Job Requires Candidates To Effectively Communicate With Individuals With Mental Health Challenges, Their Families, And Treatment Providers. Candidates Should Have Excellent Listening Skills, Empathy, And The Ability To Build Positive Relationships.
