  1. Maintain and upkeep the overall appearance of the cemeteries in the State of Georgia.
  2. Perform regular maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, and edging around gravesites.
  3. Ensure that all gravesites are properly marked and maintained.
  4. Assist in the installation and maintenance of headstones, markers, and monuments.
  5. Keep detailed records of all maintenance and repairs performed in the cemeteries.
  6. Work closely with cemetery staff to ensure the efficient and effective use of resources.
  7. Respond to requests from families and visitors regarding grave locations and other cemetery-related inquiries.
  8. Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of yourself and others while performing duties.
  9. Keep an inventory of all equipment and supplies needed for maintenance and report any needs for replacement or repair.
  10. Collaborate with other cemetery technicians to coordinate and complete maintenance tasks.
  11. Maintain a respectful and compassionate attitude towards families and visitors at all times.
  12. Attend and participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance knowledge and skills related to cemetery maintenance.
  13. Assist in special projects and events related to the cemeteries, such as memorial services or holiday decorations.
  14. Maintain a clean and organized work environment at all times.
  15. Adhere to all state and federal laws and regulations related to cemetery maintenance.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Cemetery Technician Must Have A High School Diploma Or Equivalent To Demonstrate Basic Academic Skills And Knowledge.

  • Previous Experience In Cemetery Maintenance: State Of Georgia May Prefer Candidates With Previous Experience In Cemetery Maintenance, Such As Mowing, Landscaping, And Burial Procedures.

  • Knowledge Of Relevant Laws And Regulations: A Cemetery Technician Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Relevant State And Federal Laws, Regulations, And Procedures Related To Cemetery Management.

  • Physical Fitness And Ability To Lift Heavy Objects: The Job Of A Cemetery Technician Is Physically Demanding, And Candidates Must Be Able To Perform Tasks Such As Digging Graves, Carrying Equipment, And Operating Heavy Machinery.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Cemetery Technician, You Will Be Interacting With Grieving Families And Other Cemetery Staff. Therefore, Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Necessary To Provide Compassionate And Professional Service.
