- Conduct research and analysis of state labor laws, employment data, and economic development strategies to inform and guide the development of workforce policies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including government officials, industry leaders, and community organizations, to gather input and feedback on proposed policies.
- Advise and consult with senior management on workforce policy issues and provide recommendations for effective solutions.
- Develop and draft policy proposals, including legislation, regulations, and executive orders, that align with the state's economic and workforce development goals.
- Monitor and evaluate the implementation and impact of existing workforce policies and make recommendations for improvements or adjustments as needed.
- Stay current on national and regional workforce trends and best practices to ensure the state's policies remain relevant and effective.
- Communicate and present policy recommendations and updates to various audiences, including government officials, stakeholders, and the general public.
- Lead and facilitate meetings, workshops, and focus groups to gather input and build consensus on workforce policy initiatives.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and partners to promote collaboration and support for workforce policies.
- Provide guidance and support to state agencies and departments in the implementation of workforce policies.
- Stay informed and compliant with all relevant state and federal laws and regulations related to workforce policy.
- Represent the state in meetings, conferences, and other events related to workforce policy at the local, state, and national levels.
- Act as a subject matter expert on workforce policy issues, providing guidance and expertise to colleagues and other stakeholders as needed.
- Continuously evaluate and assess the effectiveness of workforce policies and make data-driven recommendations for improvements.
- Collaborate with other state agencies and departments to ensure alignment and coordination of workforce policy initiatives.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Public Policy, Public Administration, Economics, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Workforce Development Policy, Preferably At The State Level.
Extensive Knowledge Of State And Federal Workforce Programs, Policies, And Regulations.
Excellent Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Develop And Implement Effective Policies.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Stakeholders And Present Complex Information To Diverse Audiences.
