Job Description

Welcome to the State of Florida's Department of Health! We are currently seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Public Health Nutritionist to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of our state's residents by promoting healthy eating habits and preventing nutrition-related diseases. We are looking for a passionate individual with extensive knowledge and experience in nutrition, public health, and community outreach.   1. Develop and implement nutrition programs and initiatives to promote healthy eating habits and prevent nutrition-related diseases among the state's residents.
  2. Conduct community outreach and education efforts to increase awareness and understanding of the importance of nutrition.
  3. Provide evidence-based nutrition counseling and education to individuals and groups.
  4. Collaborate with various departments and agencies to integrate nutrition services into existing public health programs.
  5. Conduct nutrition assessments and develop personalized nutrition plans for individuals with specific health needs.
  6. Stay up-to-date on the latest nutrition research and trends to continually improve program effectiveness.
  7. Develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to support nutrition initiatives.
  8. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of nutrition programs and make recommendations for improvements.
  9. Mentor and train junior nutritionists and interns to ensure high-quality nutrition services are provided.
  10. Prepare and submit reports and other necessary documentation to track program progress and outcomes.
  11. Adhere to all state and federal regulations, as well as ethical standards, in the delivery of nutrition services.
  12. Represent the Department of Health and promote its mission and values at community events, conferences, and meetings.
  13. Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to develop materials and campaigns to promote nutrition programs and services.
  14. Maintain accurate and organized records of client interactions, program activities, and other relevant data.
  15. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in the field of public health nutrition.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Public Health Nutrition Or Related Field From An Accredited University.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Public Health Nutrition, Preferably In A Government Or State Agency Setting.

  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (Rdn) Certification From The Commission On Dietetic Registration.

  • Knowledge And Understanding Of State And Federal Nutrition Programs, Policies, And Regulations.

  • Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Interdisciplinary Teams And Effectively Communicate Complex Nutrition Concepts To Diverse Populations.
