  1. Develop and implement policies, programs, and initiatives to support sustainable growth and development.
  2. Collaborate with stakeholders from various backgrounds, such as government officials, community leaders, and residents, to gather input and support for planning efforts.
  3. Conduct research and analyze data to inform planning decisions and identify areas for improvement.
  4. Utilize expertise in planning principles and techniques to provide guidance and recommendations for projects and initiatives.
  5. Lead and facilitate public meetings and workshops to inform and engage the community in planning processes.
  6. Prepare and present reports, presentations, and other materials to communicate planning strategies and progress to stakeholders and decision-makers.
  7. Work closely with other departments and agencies to ensure coordination and alignment of planning efforts.
  8. Stay up-to-date on relevant laws, regulations, and trends in public administration and urban development to ensure compliance and inform planning decisions.
  9. Mentor and provide guidance to junior planners and other staff members.
  10. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of planning initiatives and make adjustments as needed.
  11. Foster relationships and partnerships with external organizations and agencies to support planning efforts and secure funding.
  12. Manage budgets and resources, ensuring efficient use of funds and timely completion of projects.
  13. Maintain accurate and organized records and documentation related to planning projects and initiatives.
  14. Represent the State of Florida at conferences, forums, and other events related to urban planning and development.
  15. Continuously seek opportunities for professional development and stay informed about best practices in planning and public administration.

Job Qualifications
  • Knowledge Of State And Local Planning Laws, Regulations, And Procedures.

  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Urban Planning, Public Administration, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Planning, Zoning, Or Land Use Management At A Senior Level.

  • Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Develop Creative Solutions To Complex Planning Issues.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Present Information And Communicate With Stakeholders, Including Government Officials, Community Members, And Developers.
