  1. Conduct thorough analysis of proposed legislation to determine its potential impact on the state of Florida and its citizens.
  2. Advise state legislators and other stakeholders on the potential consequences of proposed legislation.
  3. Collaborate with legislators, lobbyists, and other stakeholders to develop and refine legislative proposals.
  4. Stay up-to-date on current political issues and developments to inform legislative analysis.
  5. Conduct research and gather data to support legislative proposals and recommendations.
  6. Prepare reports and presentations on legislative proposals and analysis.
  7. Identify potential conflicts or inconsistencies between proposed legislation and existing laws and regulations.
  8. Work with legal and policy experts to ensure proposed legislation is legally sound and aligned with the state's values.
  9. Communicate complex legislative information to non-experts in a clear and concise manner.
  10. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to gather feedback and support for legislative proposals.
  11. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior legislative analysts.
  12. Represent the state of Florida in legislative meetings and hearings.
  13. Collaborate with other government agencies to coordinate efforts and ensure consistency in legislative proposals.
  14. Monitor and track the progress of legislation and provide updates to stakeholders as needed.
  15. Continuously evaluate and improve legislative processes and procedures.

Job Qualifications
  • A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Legislative Analysis Or Policy Development, Preferably In A Government Setting.

  • A Thorough Understanding Of The Legislative Process And Knowledge Of State And Federal Laws And Regulations.

  • Excellent Research And Analytical Skills, With The Ability To Synthesize Complex Information Into Clear And Concise Reports.

  • Strong Written And Verbal Communication Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Present Complex Information To A Variety Of Audiences.

  • A Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Political Science, Public Policy, Or A Related Field. A Juris Doctor (Jd) Degree May Also Be Preferred.
