
Senior Juvenile Probation Officer

- Conduct intake interviews and assessments of juvenile offenders to determine appropriate level of supervision and rehabilitation needs.
- Develop and implement individualized case plans for each assigned juvenile offender, including setting goals, monitoring progress, and making referrals to necessary resources.
- Conduct regular home, school, and community visits to ensure compliance with court-ordered terms and conditions of probation.
- Provide guidance, support, and counseling to juvenile offenders and their families to promote positive behavior change and prevent reoffending.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records and prepare reports for court hearings and reviews.
- Collaborate with other departments and agencies involved in the juvenile justice system to ensure coordinated and effective services for juvenile offenders.
- Supervise and train junior probation officers, providing guidance and support in handling difficult cases and implementing best practices.
- Keep up-to-date with current laws, policies, and procedures related to juvenile justice and attend relevant trainings and workshops to enhance professional knowledge and skills.
- Act as a liaison between the department and the community, providing education and raising awareness about juvenile justice and the department's mission.
- Uphold the department's values of fairness, integrity, and respect in all interactions with juvenile offenders, colleagues, and stakeholders.
Bachelor's Degree In Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Juvenile Probation Or Related Field.
Knowledge Of Florida State Laws, Rules, And Regulations Related To Juvenile Justice.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Work With Youth, Families, And Other Stakeholders.
Leadership And Management Experience, Including The Ability To Supervise And Train Junior Probation Officers.
