You will work closely with families and community partners to investigate allegations of child abuse and neglect, assess risks, and develop plans to keep children safe.To excel in this role, you must have at least five years of experience in child welfare or related investigative work, as well as excellent communication and critical thinking skills.   1. Conduct thorough and timely investigations of child abuse and neglect allegations in accordance with state laws and regulations.
  2. Collaborate with families, law enforcement, and community partners to gather information and assess risks to children's safety.
  3. Develop and implement safety plans to protect children from further harm.
  4. Conduct interviews with children, parents, caregivers, and other relevant individuals to gather evidence and assess the situation.
  5. Document all investigative findings, observations, and actions taken in a clear and concise manner.
  6. Utilize critical thinking skills to analyze information and make sound decisions in complex and emotionally charged situations.
  7. Provide support and guidance to families involved in the child welfare system.
  8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records and comply with all state and federal reporting requirements.
  9. Attend court hearings and provide testimony as needed.
  10. Serve as a resource for less experienced investigators and provide coaching and training as needed.
  11. Stay current on all relevant laws, policies, and procedures related to child welfare and investigative work.
  12. Represent the agency in a professional and ethical manner at all times.
  13. Collaborate with other professionals, such as mental health providers and medical personnel, to ensure the well-being and safety of children.
  14. Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and other related activities to discuss and review cases.
  15. Adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines and maintain the privacy of all involved parties.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Social Work, Psychology, Or A Related Field.

  • Knowledge Of State And Federal Laws, Regulations, And Policies Related To Child Welfare.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Experience In Child Protective Services Or Related Field.

  • Ability To Effectively Communicate And Collaborate With Families, Law Enforcement, And Other Agencies.
