  1. Conduct thorough and objective audits of state agencies and programs to evaluate their performance and identify potential areas of improvement.
  2. Review financial records, documents, and processes to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and best practices.
  3. Analyze and interpret data to identify trends, patterns, and discrepancies in financial and operational practices.
  4. Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings and recommendations to management and stakeholders.
  5. Collaborate with other team members to plan and execute audit strategies and ensure timely completion of audits.
  6. Keep up-to-date with changes in laws, regulations, and industry developments related to auditing and make recommendations for process improvements.
  7. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with state agencies and program managers to facilitate effective communication and cooperation during the audit process.
  8. Provide guidance and support to junior auditors and review their work to ensure accuracy and adherence to audit standards.
  9. Conduct follow-up audits to assess the implementation of audit recommendations and report any areas of non-compliance.
  10. Maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information during audits.
  11. Advocate for ethical and efficient use of taxpayer funds and promote a culture of accountability and transparency in government operations.
  12. Act as a liaison between the state government and external audit agencies or organizations.
  13. Participate in professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills in auditing and related areas.
  14. Comply with all ethical and legal standards and adhere to the code of conduct and policies of the state government.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Accounting, Finance, Or A Related Field.

  • At Least 5 Years Of Experience In Auditing, Preferably In A Government Or Public Sector Setting.

  • Certified Public Accountant (Cpa) Or Certified Internal Auditor (Cia) Designation.

  • Knowledge Of State And Federal Laws, Regulations, And Auditing Standards.

  • Strong Analytical, Communication, And Leadership Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Manage A Team And Communicate Audit Findings To Stakeholders.
