Job Description

The State of Florida is seeking a dedicated and experienced Ops Historic Preservationist to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital role in preserving and protecting our state's most treasured landmarks and historic sites.   1. Conduct thorough research and assessments of historic sites and landmarks in Florida.
  2. Develop and implement preservation plans and strategies for the protection of historic sites and landmarks.
  3. Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to ensure the preservation of Florida's rich history.
  4. Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor the condition of historic sites and identify any potential risks or issues.
  5. Advise and assist in the design, planning, and execution of preservation projects.
  6. Document and maintain accurate records of all historic sites, including their history, significance, and current condition.
  7. Stay updated on current trends and best practices in historic preservation and apply them to projects and initiatives.
  8. Work closely with local communities and organizations to promote and raise awareness about historic preservation.
  9. Serve as a liaison between the state government and other agencies and organizations involved in historic preservation.
  10. Provide guidance and support to property owners and developers regarding historic preservation regulations and guidelines.
  11. Prepare reports and presentations to communicate the progress and impact of preservation efforts.
  12. Participate in fundraising and grant writing activities to secure funding for preservation projects.
  13. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines related to historic preservation.
  14. Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of preservation efforts and make recommendations for improvements.
  15. Represent the State of Florida and its historic preservation efforts at conferences, meetings, and other events.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Historic Preservation, Architecture, History, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Historic Preservation, Preferably In A Government Or Public Sector Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Federal And State Laws, Regulations, And Guidelines Related To Historic Preservation.

  • Excellent Research, Writing, And Communication Skills.

  • Ability To Work Independently And Collaboratively With A Team To Manage Multiple Projects And Deadlines.
