  1. Develop and implement effective mitigation plans to reduce risks and build resilience for communities and natural resources in the state of Florida.
  2. Lead and manage a team of mitigation planning professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project outcomes.
  3. Conduct thorough research and analysis to identify potential hazards and their impact on communities and natural resources.
  4. Collaborate with various stakeholders, including government agencies, non-profit organizations, and community leaders, to gather input and develop comprehensive mitigation strategies.
  5. Monitor and evaluate the progress and effectiveness of mitigation projects, making necessary adjustments and recommendations for improvement.
  6. Stay up-to-date on current trends, regulations, and best practices in mitigation planning and incorporate them into state policies and procedures.
  7. Develop and manage budgets for mitigation projects, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  8. Communicate and present mitigation plans and progress to senior management and other relevant parties.
  9. Participate in disaster response and recovery efforts, providing expertise and guidance in mitigation strategies.
  10. Foster partnerships and collaborations with external organizations to leverage resources and enhance the state's mitigation efforts.
  11. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all mitigation projects and activities.
  12. Uphold ethical standards and comply with all relevant laws and regulations in all aspects of the job.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Emergency Management, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, Or A Related Field.

  • Experience In Developing And Implementing Mitigation Plans At The Local, State, Or Federal Level.

  • Knowledge Of Federal And State Laws And Regulations Related To Hazard Mitigation.

  • Strong Project Management Skills, Including The Ability To Develop And Monitor Budgets, Timelines, And Deliverables.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With A Variety Of Stakeholders And Present Complex Information In A Clear And Concise Manner.
