
LAW ENFORCEMENT INVESTIGATOR II

- Conduct thorough and comprehensive investigations into criminal and civil cases, including but not limited to homicides, sexual assaults, financial crimes, and public corruption.
- Utilize various investigative techniques and tools, such as interviews, surveillance, and evidence collection, to gather information and evidence to support criminal cases.
- Analyze and evaluate evidence and witness statements to determine the validity and strength of a case.
- Prepare detailed and accurate reports of investigations, including all relevant evidence and findings, for use in court proceedings.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with other law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, and other criminal justice professionals to ensure all aspects of a case are thoroughly investigated and prosecuted.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on specific areas of criminal law and provide guidance and training to other members of the department.
- Stay up-to-date on current laws, investigative techniques, and technology related to law enforcement to ensure best practices are utilized in investigations.
- Testify in court as a witness, presenting evidence and providing expert testimony to support the prosecution of criminal cases.
- Conduct interviews and interrogations of suspects, witnesses, and victims in a professional and ethical manner.
- Maintain accurate and organized case files, including all evidence and documentation, in accordance with department policies and legal requirements.
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and adhere to all laws and regulations regarding the handling of such information.
- Maintain a high level of physical fitness and mental agility to effectively perform duties, including responding to emergency situations and making split-second decisions.
- Act with integrity, honesty, and respect for others at all times, upholding the values and standards of the State of Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
Bachelor's Degree In Criminal Justice, Criminology, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Law Enforcement Investigations, Preferably With A State Or Federal Agency.
Knowledge Of State And Federal Laws, Rules, And Regulations Related To Criminal Investigations.
Experience In Conducting Interviews, Gathering Evidence, And Writing Detailed Reports.
Possession Of A Valid Florida Driver's License And Ability To Maintain Physical Fitness Standards.
