  1. Conduct research and analysis on legislative issues related to higher education.
  2. Provide recommendations to support the House leadership on higher education policies.
  3. Monitor and track legislation related to higher education and provide updates to relevant stakeholders.
  4. Collaborate with other legislative analysts and stakeholders to develop strategies and solutions for higher education issues.
  5. Prepare reports, briefings, and presentations on legislative issues and their potential impact on higher education.
  6. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including higher education institutions, lobbyists, and legislators.
  7. Stay up-to-date on current trends and developments in higher education and legislative processes.
  8. Utilize strong analytical skills to identify potential challenges and opportunities for the state's higher education system.
  9. Communicate effectively with legislators and their staff to advocate for policies that support the success of higher education in the state.
  10. Participate in meetings, hearings, and other events related to higher education legislation.
  11. Work closely with the House leadership to develop and implement strategies to advance higher education initiatives.
  12. Serve as a subject matter expert on higher education issues and provide guidance and support to other team members.
  13. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and procedures related to the legislative process.
  14. Represent the state's interests in higher education matters and promote collaboration and cooperation among stakeholders.
  15. Contribute to the development of legislative priorities and strategic plans for the House related to higher education.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Public Policy, Political Science, Or A Related Field.

  • At Least 3 Years Of Experience In Legislative Analysis Or Research, Preferably In The Field Of Higher Education.

  • Knowledge Of State And Federal Laws And Regulations Related To Higher Education.

  • Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Present Complex Information To Legislators, Staff, And The Public.

  • Strong Analytical And Critical Thinking Skills, With The Ability To Research, Interpret, And Analyze Data And Policy Proposals Related To Higher Education.
