  1. Provide legal counsel and guidance to the State House of Representatives.
  2. Research and analyze laws, regulations, and legal precedents to ensure compliance and inform decision-making.
  3. Draft and review legislation, amendments, and other legal documents.
  4. Defend the state's laws and policies in court proceedings.
  5. Advise legislators on the potential legal implications of proposed legislation.
  6. Collaborate with other attorneys, legislators, and government officials to develop and implement effective legal strategies.
  7. Monitor and track relevant legal developments and advise on potential impacts to the state.
  8. Conduct legal research and prepare written opinions on various legal issues.
  9. Represent the state in negotiations and settlement discussions.
  10. Ensure the state's compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and constitutional provisions.
  11. Provide guidance and training to legislators and staff on legal matters.
  12. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive legal matters with discretion.
  13. Stay up-to-date on changes in laws and regulations that may impact the state.
  14. Participate in meetings, hearings, and other events as a legal representative of the state.
  15. Uphold ethical and professional standards in all aspects of work.

Job Qualifications
  • J.d. Degree From An Accredited Law School: A House Attorney At State Of Florida Is Required To Have A Juris Doctor (J.d.) Degree From An Accredited Law School. This Degree Is Necessary To Ensure That The Candidate Has Received The Necessary Training And Education In The Legal Field.

  • Admitted To The Florida Bar: In Addition To Having A J.d. Degree, A House Attorney At State Of Florida Must Also Be Admitted To The Florida Bar. This Demonstrates That The Candidate Has Passed The Necessary Examinations And Met The Requirements To Practice Law In The State Of Florida.

  • Prior Experience In Legislative Or Government Law: A Strong Candidate For A House Attorney Position At State Of Florida Should Have Prior Experience In Legislative Or Government Law. This Could Include Working As A Legislative Staff Attorney, A Government Attorney, Or In A Related Field.

  • Knowledge Of Florida Laws And Regulations: Since The House Attorney Will Be Working In The State Of Florida, It Is Important That They Have A Strong Understanding Of The State's Laws And Regulations. This Includes Knowledge Of The Florida Constitution, As Well As Any Relevant State Statutes And Regulations.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: A House Attorney At State Of Florida Must Possess Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills. They Will Be Working With A Variety Of Individuals, Including Legislators, Government Officials, And Other Attorneys, And Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate Complex Legal Issues And Build Relationships With These Stakeholders.
