Job Description

  1. Conduct thorough inspections of commercial and residential properties to identify potential fire hazards and ensure compliance with fire safety codes and regulations.
  2. Educate the public and businesses on fire prevention strategies and provide recommendations for improving fire safety measures.
  3. Respond to emergency fire calls and coordinate with other emergency personnel to assess the situation and take appropriate action.
  4. Perform regular maintenance and testing of fire protection equipment, such as fire alarms and sprinkler systems, to ensure they are functioning properly.
  5. Assist in the development and implementation of fire safety plans for public events and high-risk facilities.
  6. Conduct investigations of fire incidents to determine the cause and make recommendations for future prevention.
  7. Stay updated on new fire safety technologies and techniques, and make recommendations for their implementation.
  8. Collaborate with other agencies and departments to develop and implement fire safety strategies for the community.
  9. Maintain accurate records and reports of all fire prevention activities and incidents.
  10. Participate in training and exercises to improve and maintain fire protection skills and knowledge.
  11. Communicate effectively with the public, colleagues, and other agencies on fire safety matters.
  12. Stay informed on local, state, and federal fire safety laws and regulations and ensure compliance.
  13. Provide support and assistance to other fire departments and agencies during large-scale emergencies.
  14. Foster positive relationships with community members and stakeholders to promote fire safety and prevention efforts.
  15. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure personal and public safety at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Fire Science Or Related Field: A Strong Educational Foundation In Fire Science Is Essential For A Fire Protection Specialist, As It Provides The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Effectively Assess Fire Risks And Implement Prevention Measures.

  • Certified Fire Protection Specialist (Cfps) Certification: This Certification Demonstrates A High Level Of Expertise In Fire Protection And Prevention Techniques, And Is Often A Requirement For State Government Positions.

  • Experience In Fire Prevention And Safety: Previous Experience In Fire Prevention And Safety, Either Through Work Experience Or Internships, Is Highly Desirable For This Role.
