
Fire Protection Specialist

- Conduct trainings and presentations on fire prevention and safety for various audiences, including businesses, schools, and community organizations.
- Collaborate with other agencies and departments to coordinate fire safety initiatives and response efforts.
- Keep up-to-date with changes in fire safety regulations and codes, and ensure compliance within the organization.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of fire inspections, investigations, and trainings.
- Provide guidance and support to businesses and individuals on fire safety measures and compliance.
- Participate in emergency response drills and exercises to test readiness and identify areas for improvement.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including government officials, business owners, and the public, to promote fire safety awareness and compliance.
- Identify potential fire hazards and make recommendations for corrective actions.
- Utilize specialized equipment and tools to assess fire safety risks and hazards.
- Train and supervise junior fire protection specialists to ensure proper procedures and standards are followed.
- Collaborate with fire departments and other emergency response agencies to develop and implement emergency response plans.
- Maintain confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive information related to fire incidents and investigations.
Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Fire Protection Specialist At State Of Florida Must Have A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Education.
Certification As A Fire Protection Specialist: Candidates Must Possess Certification As A Fire Protection Specialist From A Recognized Organization Such As The National Fire Protection Association (Nfpa).
Knowledge Of Fire Safety Codes And Regulations: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Fire Safety Codes And Regulations, Including National Fire Protection Association (Nfpa) Codes, International Fire Code (Ifc), And Occupational Safety And Health Administration (Osha) Regulations.
Experience In Fire Prevention And Protection: Applicants Should Have At Least 3-5 Years Of Experience In The Field Of Fire Prevention And Protection, Preferably In A Government Or Municipal Setting.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Fire Protection Specialist, The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Colleagues, Superiors, And The Public Is Essential. Candidates Must Also Possess Strong Interpersonal Skills To Work Effectively As Part Of A Team.
