
FDC- Plumber

- Conduct routine inspections of plumbing systems in state facilities to ensure they are up to code and functioning properly.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on plumbing systems, including but not limited to pipes, fixtures, and appliances.
- Install new plumbing systems and equipment as needed.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose plumbing issues, and develop and implement effective solutions.
- Keep accurate records of all work performed, including maintenance logs and repair reports.
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to coordinate plumbing work and ensure timely completion of projects.
- Stay current on industry standards and regulations related to plumbing and implement necessary changes to ensure compliance.
- Communicate with building occupants and staff to schedule repairs and minimize disruptions to daily operations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, and ensure proper storage and handling of tools and equipment.
- Adhere to safety protocols and promote a safe working environment for all staff and building occupants.
- Provide excellent customer service to all stakeholders, including responding to inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Train and mentor junior plumbers to develop their skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with external contractors and vendors as needed for specialized plumbing work.
- Participate in regular team meetings and provide input on improving department processes and procedures.
- Represent the department and the state in a positive and professional manner at all times.
Ability To Read And Interpret Blueprints, Schematics, And Technical Diagrams.
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience As A Plumber, Preferably In A Correctional Or Institutional Setting.
Knowledge Of State And Federal Plumbing Codes And Regulations.
Possession Of A Valid Florida Plumbing License.
Strong Problem-Solving Skills And Ability To Work Independently With Minimal Supervision.
