
FDC-Library Technical Assistant I

- Provide technical support to library operations by troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to library systems and equipment.
- Maintain and update library databases, including cataloging and processing new materials.
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of new library technologies and software.
- Train staff and patrons on the use of library technology and resources.
- Monitor and maintain library computer and printing systems.
- Collaborate with other library staff to develop and implement new technology initiatives.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting patrons with technology-related inquiries and issues.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to library technology and equipment.
- Assist with the organization and maintenance of library materials, including shelving and inventory management.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in the library field and make recommendations for their implementation.
- Adhere to library policies and procedures, including those related to confidentiality and patron privacy.
- Assist with special projects and events as needed.
- Communicate effectively with library staff and management regarding any technology-related concerns or updates.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude while representing the library to patrons and the community.

High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Requirement For This Job Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Shows Basic Educational Competency And The Ability To Follow Instructions And Learn New Tasks.
Knowledge Of Library Science: A Candidate For This Job Should Have A Basic Understanding Of Library Organization, Cataloging, And Circulation Procedures. This Includes Familiarity With Library Classification Systems, Such As Dewey Decimal Or Library Of Congress.
Computer Skills: Proficiency In Using Computer Applications And Software Is Necessary For This Role. The Candidate Should Be Able To Navigate Library Databases, Create Spreadsheets, And Use Word Processing Software.
Customer Service Experience: As A Technical Assistant, The Candidate Will Be Interacting With Library Patrons Regularly. Therefore, Excellent Customer Service Skills Are Essential.
