- Develop and implement educational policies that align with the state's educational goals and priorities.
- Stay up-to-date on current educational research and trends to inform policy decisions.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders, including teachers, school administrators, and community members, to gather input and feedback on policy proposals.
- Conduct thorough analysis and research to assess the potential impact of proposed policies.
- Create and present reports and recommendations to department leadership and other government officials.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including legislators and education advocacy groups.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of existing policies and make recommendations for improvements.
- Work closely with other departments within the Department of Education to ensure alignment and consistency in policies.
- Lead and manage a team of policy analysts and specialists to ensure timely and effective policy development and implementation.
- Represent the Department of Education at meetings, conferences, and other events related to educational policy.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations related to educational policies.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve and innovate policies to better serve the needs of Florida's students, teachers, and schools.
Master's Degree In Education, Public Policy, Or Related Field
Minimum Of 7 Years Of Experience In Educational Policy Development And Implementation
Strong Understanding Of Federal And State Education Laws And Regulations
Excellent Analytical And Critical Thinking Skills
Experience Managing A Team And Collaborating With Multiple Stakeholders, Including Educators, Policymakers, And Community Members.
