Job Description

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you as a Child Protective Investigator Supervisor at the State of Florida. As a supervisor in this role, you will oversee a team of investigators responsible for assessing allegations of child abuse and neglect.   1. Supervise and lead a team of child protective investigators in assessing allegations of child abuse and neglect.
  2. Ensure the team follows all laws, regulations, and policies related to child protection and investigation procedures.
  3. Conduct regular team meetings to discuss cases, provide guidance and support, and ensure consistency in approach and decision-making.
  4. Monitor and evaluate team performance, providing feedback, and implementing corrective action when necessary.
  5. Collaborate with other agencies and community partners to ensure a coordinated and effective response to child abuse and neglect cases.
  6. Develop and implement training programs for the team to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively carry out their duties.
  7. Maintain accurate and thorough case records and documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  8. Stay updated on current laws, policies, and procedures related to child protection and make recommendations for improvements as needed.
  9. Serve as a liaison between the team and upper management, communicating any issues, concerns, or successes.
  10. Uphold ethical standards and promote a positive and supportive work environment for the team.
  11. Handle escalated or complex cases and provide guidance and support to team members as needed.
  12. Conduct regular performance evaluations and make recommendations for promotions, transfers, and disciplinary actions.
  13. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of child protection services.
  14. Represent the agency in meetings, conferences, and other events related to child protection.
  15. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all confidentiality policies and procedures.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In Child Welfare, With At Least 2 Years In A Supervisory Role.

  • Knowledge Of Relevant State And Federal Laws, Policies And Procedures Related To Child Protection.

  • Strong Leadership Skills And The Ability To Effectively Manage And Train A Team Of Investigators.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Other Agencies And Stakeholders.
