Job Description

This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires a combination of empathy, strong communication skills, and the ability to make difficult decisions in high-stress situations.To be considered for this role, you must possess a Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field, as well as a valid driver's license and a clean background check.   1. Investigate reports of child abuse, neglect, and abandonment in a timely and thorough manner.
  2. Conduct interviews with children, parents, caregivers, and other individuals involved in the investigation.
  3. Assess the safety and well-being of children and determine appropriate intervention or services.
  4. Document and maintain accurate records of all investigations and interactions with families.
  5. Collaborate with law enforcement, medical professionals, and other agencies to gather information and coordinate services.
  6. Make difficult decisions regarding child safety and placement, following established policies and procedures.
  7. Communicate effectively and professionally with all individuals involved in the investigation, including children, families, and other professionals.
  8. Respond to crisis situations and handle high-stress situations with empathy and professionalism.
  9. Stay current on state and federal laws, policies, and best practices related to child welfare and abuse prevention.
  10. Adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines to protect the privacy of children and families.
  11. Maintain a strong focus on the well-being and best interests of children at all times.
  12. Complete all required training and participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.
  13. Represent the State of Florida with integrity and professionalism in all interactions.
  14. Maintain a valid driver's license and a clean background check.
  15. Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to effectively address complex and sensitive situations.
  16. Support and adhere to all agency policies and procedures.
  17. Treat all individuals with respect, empathy, and cultural sensitivity.
  18. Serve as a positive role model and advocate for children in the community.
  19. Build and maintain relationships with community partners and resources.
  20. Use technology and software systems to complete investigations and maintain accurate records.

Job Qualifications
