  1. Prosecute criminal cases: The primary responsibility of the Assistant State Attorney will be to prosecute criminal cases on behalf of the State of Florida. This includes conducting legal research, gathering evidence, and presenting cases in court.
  2. Uphold justice: The Assistant State Attorney will be responsible for upholding justice and ensuring that the rights of citizens are protected. This may involve working with law enforcement agencies, victims, and witnesses to build strong cases.
  3. Conduct legal research: The individual in this role will be expected to conduct legal research to stay updated on laws, statutes, and legal precedents related to criminal cases. This will help in building strong cases and ensuring fair and just outcomes.
  4. Prepare for trials: The Assistant State Attorney will be responsible for preparing for trials by organizing evidence, preparing witnesses, and developing trial strategies. They will also be responsible for presenting opening and closing arguments in court.

  9. Collaborate with colleagues: The Assistant State Attorney will work closely with other attorneys and legal professionals to discuss cases, share knowledge and expertise, and ensure that cases are handled efficiently and effectively.

Job Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (J.d.) Degree From An Accredited Law School.

  • Admission To The Florida State Bar And Active Membership In Good Standing.

  • Prior Experience In Criminal Law, Litigation, Or Prosecution, Preferably With A Government Agency.

  • Strong Knowledge Of State And Federal Criminal Laws, Rules Of Evidence, And Court Procedures.

  • Excellent Oral And Written Communication Skills, Including The Ability To Effectively Present Arguments In Court.
