
Archivist Supervisor

- Oversee the daily operations of the archive department, including managing staff schedules, assigning tasks, and monitoring progress.
- Lead and mentor a team of archivists, providing guidance and support in implementing best practices for preserving and organizing historical records.
- Ensure the proper preservation and maintenance of all archival materials, including monitoring environmental conditions and implementing conservation measures.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive systems for organizing and cataloging archival materials, ensuring their accessibility for researchers and other users.
- Stay up-to-date on current trends and best practices in the field of archiving, and incorporate them into department policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments and organizations to acquire and process new archival collections.
- Develop and implement training programs for staff and volunteers on archival techniques and procedures.
- Serve as a liaison with external stakeholders, such as researchers and donors, to facilitate access to archival materials.
- Prepare and present reports on the status of archival collections, including statistics on usage and preservation efforts.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all archival materials and activities.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations related to archival materials and the use of historical records.
- Collaborate with IT staff to ensure the proper storage and digitization of archival materials.
- Manage the department budget and allocate resources effectively to support the preservation and organization of archival materials.
- Conduct regular assessments and evaluations of the archive department's performance and make recommendations for improvements.
- Represent the archive department in meetings and conferences, and promote the organization's mission and goals to the public.
Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Library Science, History, Or A Related Field
At Least 3-5 Years Of Experience Working As An Archivist Or In A Related Role
