Job Description

  1. Provide individual counseling and support to individuals who have experienced abuse.
  2. Conduct thorough assessments of clients' mental health and trauma histories.
  3. Develop personalized treatment plans based on clients' needs and goals.
  4. Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions and techniques.
  5. Monitor and evaluate clients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  6. Collaborate with other professionals and agencies to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
  7. Maintain accurate and confidential records of clients' treatment and progress.
  8. Provide crisis intervention and support to clients in immediate need.
  9. Educate clients and their families on coping strategies and self-care techniques.
  10. Stay up-to-date on best practices and research in the field of abuse counseling.
  11. Advocate for clients' rights and needs within the criminal justice system and other institutions.
  12. Participate in team meetings and case consultations to ensure effective and coordinated care.
  13. Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and other professionals.
  14. Adhere to all ethical and legal standards in counseling practice.
  15. Continuously develop and maintain a strong understanding of mental health and trauma.
  16. Demonstrate empathy, patience, and sensitivity towards clients' experiences.
  17. Collaborate with community organizations to provide resources and support for clients.
  18. Maintain a positive and professional attitude towards clients and colleagues.
  19. Adhere to all policies and procedures of the State of Florida.
  20. Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Psychology, Social Work, Or Related Field

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Providing Counseling Services To Individuals Who Have Experienced Abuse Or Trauma

  • Certification Or Licensure In Counseling, Such As Licensed Mental Health Counselor (Lmhc) Or Certified Addiction Professional (Cap)

  • Knowledge Of State And Federal Laws And Regulations Related To Abuse Reporting And Confidentiality

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work With Diverse Populations And Collaborate With Other Professionals In A Multidisciplinary Team.
