  3. Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and appropriate care for members.
  4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of utilization review activities and outcomes.
  5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans for members.
  6. Stay current on industry standards and best practices in healthcare utilization review and make recommendations for improvements.
  7. Advocate for members' rights and needs in the healthcare system.
  8. Assist in identifying and addressing potential issues or concerns with healthcare services.
  9. Monitor and track healthcare utilization trends and make recommendations for cost-saving measures.
  10. Provide education and guidance to members and their families regarding healthcare options and resources.
  11. Serve as a liaison between members, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to resolve any issues or concerns.
  12. Participate in team meetings and provide input on ways to improve healthcare processes and outcomes.
  13. Collaborate with other departments and agencies to ensure efficient and effective utilization of healthcare resources.
  14. Uphold ethical and professional standards in all aspects of the job.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or Related Field: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or A Related Field Is Typically Required For A Utilization Review Nurse Coordinator Position In The State Of Connecticut.

  • Active Rn License In The State Of Connecticut: The Candidate Must Hold An Active Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of Connecticut, Or Be Eligible For Licensure By Endorsement.

  • Clinical Experience In Healthcare: A Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Direct Clinical Experience In A Healthcare Setting Is Typically Preferred For A Utilization Review Nurse Coordinator Position. This Experience May Include Work In A Hospital, Long-Term Care Facility, Or Home Health Agency.

  • Knowledge Of Utilization Review Processes: Ideal Candidates For This Position Will Have A Strong Understanding Of Utilization Review Processes, Including Utilization Review Guidelines And Regulations, As Well As Insurance And Reimbursement Policies.

  • Strong Communication And Organizational Skills: The Utilization Review Nurse Coordinator Must Have Excellent Communication And Organizational Skills, As They Will Be Responsible For Coordinating And Communicating With Various Healthcare Providers, Insurance Companies, And Patients. They Must Also Be Able To Effectively Manage And Prioritize Multiple Tasks And Deadlines.
