Job Description

As a School Psychologist, you will play a critical role in supporting students' academic, social, and emotional well-being.   1. Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to identify students' strengths, needs, and areas for growth.
  2. Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  3. Provide counseling and intervention services to support students' social and emotional well-being.
  4. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school personnel to develop and implement strategies to support students' academic success.
  5. Conduct research and stay updated on current trends and best practices in child development, learning theories, and psychological principles.
  6. Provide crisis intervention and support for students in emergency situations.
  7. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and develop appropriate interventions.
  8. Advocate for students' needs and rights within the school community.
  9. Maintain accurate and confidential records of all services provided to students.
  10. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about students' progress and any concerns.
  11. Participate in professional development opportunities to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
  12. Adhere to all state and federal laws and regulations regarding the provision of school psychological services.
  13. Serve as a resource for teachers and other school staff on issues related to students' mental health and well-being.
  14. Collaborate with community resources and agencies to provide additional support for students as needed.
  15. Support school-wide initiatives and programs aimed at promoting a positive and inclusive school environment for all students.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree Or Higher In School Psychology From An Accredited Institution.

  • Certification As A School Psychologist From The State Of Connecticut Department Of Education.

  • Experience Working In A School Setting, Preferably In A Diverse And Multicultural Environment.

  • Knowledge Of Current Laws, Regulations, And Best Practices In The Field Of School Psychology.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Students, Parents, And School Staff.
