- Oversee and manage the fiscal operations of the department, including budgeting, financial reporting, and purchasing.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding fiscal and administrative procedures.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to maintain accurate and efficient operations.
- Monitor and analyze financial data to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for cost-saving measures.
- Collaborate with other departments and agencies to coordinate fiscal activities and ensure smooth operations.
- Prepare and present budget proposals and reports to management and stakeholders.
- Train and supervise staff members involved in fiscal and administrative tasks.
- Communicate and liaise with external auditors and government agencies to ensure compliance and resolve any issues.
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to ensure the best value for the department.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documents.
- Stay informed about changes in fiscal policies and regulations and make appropriate adjustments to department procedures.
- Continuously seek ways to streamline processes and improve efficiency within the department.
- Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management.
