
Assistant Cook

- Assist the Head Cook in planning menus and ordering necessary ingredients.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, following all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
- Collaborate with the Head Cook and other kitchen staff to ensure a smooth and coordinated workflow.
- Follow dietary restrictions and special requests when preparing meals for residents.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of food and kitchen supplies.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of the kitchen before and after meal service.
- Communicate effectively with other staff members and residents to ensure a positive dining experience.
- Continuously strive to improve cooking techniques and recipes to meet the nutritional needs and preferences of residents.
- Adhere to all state and federal regulations and guidelines related to food preparation and service.
- Attend training and education sessions to stay updated on food safety and sanitation practices.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude while interacting with residents and team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Cook or supervisor.
Culinary Education Or Experience: A Degree Or Certification In Culinary Arts Or Previous Experience Working As A Cook Is Essential For This Role.
Knowledge Of Food Safety And Sanitation: An Understanding Of Proper Food Handling, Storage, And Preparation Techniques Is Necessary To Ensure The Safety And Health Of Customers.
Ability To Follow Recipes: The Ability To Accurately Follow Recipes And Measure Ingredients Is Crucial For Maintaining Consistency And Quality In Food Preparation.
Time Management Skills: As An Assistant Cook, You Will Be Responsible For Preparing Multiple Dishes At Once While Ensuring They Are All Completed In A Timely Manner. Strong Time Management Skills Are A Must.
