
Wildlife Habitat Supervisor

- Develop and implement strategies for the management, restoration, and preservation of wildlife habitats in the state of California.
- Supervise a team of wildlife biologists, technicians, and other staff members in carrying out habitat management and conservation activities.
- Conduct regular assessments of wildlife habitats to identify areas in need of restoration, and develop plans for restoration and enhancement.
- Collaborate with other state agencies, non-governmental organizations, and stakeholders to coordinate habitat management efforts and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of habitat management activities, and make recommendations for improvements as needed.
- Develop and manage budgets for habitat management and restoration projects.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest research, techniques, and best practices in habitat management and incorporate them into the state's wildlife conservation efforts.
- Provide technical expertise and training to staff, partners, and the public on wildlife habitat management and conservation.
- Prepare and present reports, proposals, and presentations to state officials, stakeholders, and the public on the status of wildlife habitats and the effectiveness of habitat management efforts.
- Serve as a representative of the state in meetings, conferences, and other events related to wildlife habitat management and conservation.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal laws, regulations, and policies related to wildlife habitats and conservation.
- Uphold the state's values and mission of protecting and preserving California's diverse wildlife and natural resources.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the team and with external partners to achieve common conservation goals.
- Continuously evaluate and improve habitat management processes and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the department or supervisor.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Wildlife Management, Ecology, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Managing Wildlife Habitats And Conducting Field Surveys.
Knowledge Of State And Federal Regulations Pertaining To Wildlife Management And Habitat Conservation.
Experience In Developing And Implementing Habitat Improvement Plans And Monitoring Wildlife Populations.
Strong Leadership And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Various Stakeholders Including Government Agencies, Landowners, And Community Groups.
