  1. Conduct research and analyze data to evaluate the operations of public utilities and ensure compliance with state laws and regulations.

  3. Collaborate with other regulatory analysts and stakeholders to promote consumer protection and fair practices in the public utilities sector.
  4. Stay updated on industry trends and changes in regulations to ensure effective oversight of public utilities.
  5. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including public utility companies, consumer advocacy groups, and government officials.
  6. Prepare reports and presentations on regulatory findings and make recommendations for improvements or changes.
  7. Review and analyze public utility company filings and contracts to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  8. Monitor public utility company performance and identify areas for improvement or potential issues.
  9. Assist in the development of new regulations and policies related to public utilities.
  10. Communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external stakeholders to provide guidance and address regulatory inquiries or concerns.
  11. Conduct audits and investigations to identify potential violations and take appropriate enforcement actions.
  12. Train and mentor junior regulatory analysts and provide support and guidance as needed.
  13. Participate in meetings, conferences, and other events related to public utilities regulation to stay informed and contribute to discussions and decision-making processes.
  14. Adhere to ethical standards and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information related to regulatory matters.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Business, Economics, Public Policy, Or A Related Field.

  • At Least 2 Years Of Experience In The Regulation Of Public Utilities, Such As Electricity, Gas, Water, Or Telecommunications.

  • Strong Analytical And Research Skills, With The Ability To Interpret Complex Data And Regulations.

  • Knowledge Of California Public Utilities Code, State Administrative Procedures Act, And Other Relevant State And Federal Laws And Regulations.

  • Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Communicate Complex Information To A Variety Of Stakeholders.
