  1. Provide compassionate and quality healthcare services to incarcerated individuals within the Correctional Training Facility.
  2. Conduct thorough health assessments and screenings to identify and address any medical concerns or conditions.
  3. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and ensure proper documentation.
  4. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including doctors, therapists, and social workers, to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  5. Monitor and track the health status of incarcerated individuals, including documenting changes and updating medical records.
  6. Educate incarcerated individuals on proper health and hygiene practices to promote overall wellness and prevent the spread of diseases.
  7. Respond to medical emergencies and provide timely and appropriate care.
  8. Maintain a safe and clean healthcare environment, adhering to all infection control protocols and safety regulations.
  9. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss individual patient care plans and provide input based on nursing expertise.
  10. Keep up-to-date with current public health practices and policies, and apply them in the correctional setting.
  11. Advocate for the health and well-being of incarcerated individuals, promoting a patient-centered approach to care.
  12. Provide support and guidance to less experienced healthcare staff, including LPNs and CNAs.
  13. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
  14. Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional development, participating in training and educational opportunities as required.

Job Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of California.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or Related Field From An Accredited College Or University.

  • Minimum Of Two Years Of Experience Working As A Public Health Nurse In A Correctional Facility Or Other Healthcare Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Evidence-Based Public Health Principles And Practices, Including Disease Prevention, Health Education, And Community Health Assessments.

  • Ability To Communicate Effectively With Diverse Populations, Including Inmates, Correctional Staff, And Community Partners, And To Work Collaboratively In A Multidisciplinary Team.
