- Develop and implement strategic plans for the IT department that align with the overall goals and mission of the state.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the IT department, including managing a team of IT professionals and delegating tasks and responsibilities.
- Ensure the security and integrity of the state's technological infrastructure, including hardware, software, and networks.
- Stay up-to-date on industry developments and trends, and make recommendations for improvements and upgrades to the state's technology systems.
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to understand their technology needs and provide efficient and effective solutions.
- Manage the IT budget and make strategic decisions for the allocation of resources to support the state's technology needs.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and laws related to technology.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for IT issues and ensure timely resolution.
- Identify areas for improvement in the state's technology systems and processes and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the IT department and across all departments.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with external vendors and partners to ensure the state's technology needs are met.
- Lead and mentor the IT team, providing guidance, support, and opportunities for professional development.
- Communicate regularly with upper management and stakeholders about the status of IT projects and initiatives.
- Continuously evaluate and improve the state's technology infrastructure and processes to meet the changing needs of the citizens and the organization.
- Uphold the values and mission of the state and represent the IT department in a professional and ethical manner.
Bachelor's Degree In Computer Science, Information Technology, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In A Leadership Role Within An It Department.
Strong Technical Knowledge And Understanding Of Various It Systems And Software, Including Network Infrastructure, Database Management, And Cybersecurity.
Experience In Project Management, With The Ability To Plan, Implement, And Oversee Large-Scale It Projects.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Manage A Team And Collaborate With Other Departments.
