  10. Adhere to safety protocols and procedures while working in the field.

  12. Travel to various locations within the state to conduct fieldwork and assessments.

  14. Participate in and contribute to professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  15. Represent the department at conferences, meetings, and other events related to geology engineering.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Geology Or Geological Engineering: A Strong Educational Background In Geology Or Geological Engineering Is Essential For This Position. This Degree Should Be From An Accredited Institution And Demonstrate A Solid Understanding Of Geological Principles And Engineering Techniques.

  • Professional Engineering (Pe) License: In Order To Practice As A Geologist Engineer In The State Of California, A Pe License Is Required. This License Is Obtained Through Passing The Fundamentals Of Engineering (Fe) Exam And The Principles And Practice Of Engineering (Pe) Exam.

  • 3-5 Years Of Relevant Experience: The State Of California Requires Candidates To Have 3-5 Years Of Experience Working In A Related Field, Such As Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Mapping, Or Environmental Engineering. This Experience Should Demonstrate A Strong Understanding Of Geological Processes And Engineering Principles.

  • Knowledge Of California Geology And Regulations: As A Geologist Engineer In California, It Is Important To Have A Thorough Understanding Of The State's Unique Geological Features And Regulatory Requirements. This Includes Knowledge Of California's Seismic Activity, Groundwater Resources, And Environmental Regulations.

  • Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: Geologist Engineers Must Be Able To Analyze Complex Geological Data And Use That Information To Design Effective Engineering Solutions. Strong Critical Thinking And Problem-Solving Skills Are Essential For This Role.
