  1. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the State of California.
  2. Ensure the integrity of financial data by performing regular audits and reconciliations.
  3. Monitor and analyze financial transactions to identify and resolve any discrepancies or errors.
  4. Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.
  5. Review and reconcile various financial accounts, including bank accounts and credit card statements.
  6. Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
  7. Collaborate with other departments to ensure proper recording and classification of financial transactions.
  8. Stay up-to-date with accounting principles and best practices.
  9. Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  10. Communicate effectively with colleagues and superiors to provide timely and accurate financial information.
  11. Adhere to all state and federal regulations and policies related to financial recordkeeping.
  12. Maintain confidentiality and security of financial records and information.
  13. Train and mentor new team members as needed.
  14. Participate in special projects and assignments as assigned by management.
  15. Actively support the mission and goals of the State of California in all job duties.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Accounting, Finance, Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In General Ledger Accounting.

  • Proficiency In Accounting Software Such As Peoplesoft, Sap, Or Oracle.

  • Strong Understanding Of Gaap Principles And Ability To Apply Them In Daily Tasks.

  • Excellent Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With Attention To Detail And Accuracy.
