
Fishing and Wildlife Scientific Aide

- Participate in fieldwork activities, including but not limited to, fish and wildlife surveys, habitat assessments, and population monitoring.
- Assist in the management and conservation efforts of fish and wildlife species, including the implementation of management plans and conservation strategies.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of research findings and data collected.
- Work closely with a team of scientists and other professionals to analyze and interpret data.
- Collaborate with other agencies and organizations to support and carry out conservation initiatives.
- Stay up-to-date with current research and technological advancements in the field.
- Educate the public about fish and wildlife conservation and the importance of preserving California's natural resources.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies.
- Maintain equipment and supplies necessary for fieldwork and research activities.
- Assist with the training and supervision of volunteers and seasonal staff.
- Conduct literature reviews and assist with the preparation of reports and publications.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures while working in the field.
- Continuously evaluate and improve research methods and techniques.
- Act as an ambassador for the State of California and represent the agency positively in all interactions with the public and other organizations.
Bachelor's Degree In Fisheries And Wildlife Management Or Related Field.
Knowledge Of Local And State Regulations Pertaining To Fishing And Wildlife.
Experience Conducting Field Surveys And Collecting Data On Fish And Wildlife Populations.
Ability To Operate And Maintain Equipment Used In Fisheries And Wildlife Research, Such As Boats, Traps, And Cameras.
Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills To Collaborate With Other Researchers And Communicate Findings To Stakeholders.
