  • Conduct thorough geological investigations and evaluations to assess potential hazards and risks associated with infrastructure projects in California.
  • Utilize engineering principles and geological knowledge to design and recommend appropriate solutions for mitigating risks and ensuring the stability and safety of structures.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other professionals to develop and implement effective plans and strategies for geologic hazard management.
  • Stay up-to-date with current research, regulations, and best practices in the field of engineering geology to continuously improve processes and procedures.
  • Conduct field work, collect and analyze data, and prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Manage and oversee geologic investigations and testing, ensuring accuracy, adherence to timelines, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Participate in project planning and development, providing expert advice and guidance on potential geologic hazards and risks.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, contractors, and community members.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to geologic hazard management and infrastructure development.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and provide training and guidance to junior staff members and colleagues on geologic hazards and engineering geology principles.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Geology, Engineering Geology, Or A Related Field.

  • Professional Geologist (Pg) License From The State Of California.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Engineering Geology, Preferably In The Public Sector.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Geologic And Geotechnical Principles, Including Soil Mechanics And Rock Mechanics.

  • Experience With Geologic Hazard Assessment, Site Investigations, And Geological Mapping.
