  • Knowledge Of Disability Insurance Program: A Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of The California Disability Insurance Program, Including Eligibility Requirements, Claim Procedures, And Benefit Calculations.

  • Communication Skills: Since The Job Requires Interacting With Individuals With Disabilities, Strong Communication Skills Are A Must. This Includes The Ability To Explain Complex Information In A Clear And Concise Manner, Active Listening, And Empathy Towards Claimants.

  • Customer Service Experience: A Disability Insurance Program Representative Will Be Responsible For Handling Customer Inquiries And Resolving Issues. Therefore, Prior Experience In A Customer Service Role, Preferably In A Government Agency, Is Desired.

  • Analytical Skills: The Job Involves Reviewing And Analyzing Complex Disability Claims, Determining Eligibility, And Making Benefit Calculations. Thus, A Candidate Must Possess Strong Analytical Skills And Attention To Detail.

  • Knowledge Of State And Federal Laws: Disability Insurance Program Representatives Must Be Well-Versed In Both State And Federal Laws Related To Disability Benefits. This Includes The California Family Rights Act, Americans With Disabilities Act, And The Fair Employment And Housing Act.
