- Develop and implement a wide range of recreational and therapeutic activities for veterans living in the State of California's Veterans Home and Medical Center.
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a schedule of engaging and meaningful activities that cater to the diverse needs and interests of the veteran population.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the physical, emotional, and cognitive needs of veterans in order to plan appropriate activities that promote their well-being.
- Work closely with local organizations and community members to develop partnerships and secure resources for activities and events.
- Utilize creativity and innovation to design new activities and programs that will enhance the quality of life for veterans and stimulate their physical and mental capabilities.
- Ensure all activities are in compliance with safety regulations and follow established protocols.

- Continuously assess the effectiveness of current programs and make necessary adjustments to improve the overall experience for veterans.
- Adhere to all state and federal regulations pertaining to veteran care and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Display a positive and compassionate attitude towards veterans, their families, and fellow staff members.
- Serve as a role model for volunteers and assist in training and supervising their participation in activities.
- Act as an advocate for veterans and their needs within the organization and the community.
Bachelor's Degree In Recreation Therapy, Gerontology, Or Related Field.
Minimum Of 2 Years Experience Working With Veterans Or In A Medical Facility.
Knowledge Of Therapeutic Recreational Activities And Programs For Individuals With Physical, Cognitive, And Emotional Disabilities.
Ability To Develop And Implement Individualized Activity Plans To Meet The Needs And Interests Of Veterans.
Strong Communication And Organizational Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Healthcare Staff, Families, And Community Resources.
