- Develop and implement statewide water management plans to ensure the responsible use and sustainability of Arizona's water resources.
- Conduct research and analysis to support the development of water management plans and policies.
- Collaborate with other agencies and stakeholders to gather data and input for water management planning.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of current water management strategies and make recommendations for improvements.
- Stay up-to-date on state and federal water laws and regulations and ensure compliance in all planning efforts.
- Communicate with various stakeholders, including government officials, community groups, and the general public, to educate and inform about water management plans and policies.
- Provide technical expertise on water resource issues and serve as a subject matter expert for the agency.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local, state, and federal agencies involved in water resource management.
- Identify potential water resource conflicts and work to find solutions that benefit all parties involved.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and other materials to communicate water management plans and progress to stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Participate in meetings, workshops, and conferences related to water resource management.
- Train and mentor junior staff members on water resource planning and management.
- Continuously assess and improve the effectiveness of water management plans through data analysis and feedback.
- Represent the agency in public forums and at professional events to promote and advocate for responsible water resource management practices.
- Embrace a proactive and innovative approach to water resource management, seeking out new methods and technologies to improve efficiency and sustainability.
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Water Resources Planning, Management, Or Policy Development.
Knowledge Of State And Federal Water Laws, Regulations, And Policies.
Bachelor's Degree In Water Resources Management, Environmental Science, Or A Related Field.
Experience With Data Analysis And Modeling Related To Water Resources.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Diverse Stakeholders.
