Welcome to the State of Arizona! We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Treasury team as a Treasury Intern. In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the financial operations of a state government, while also making a meaningful impact on the management of Arizona's funds. As an intern, you will work closely with our experienced professionals to support various treasury functions, including cash management, investment management, debt management, and more.   1. Assist in the daily cash management operations of the State of Arizona, including monitoring and reconciling bank accounts, preparing cash flow projections, and initiating wire transfers.
  2. Learn and support the investment management process, including researching potential investment opportunities, monitoring market trends, and preparing investment reports.
  3. Participate in the management of the state's debt portfolio, including tracking debt issuances, monitoring debt service payments, and preparing debt-related reports.
  4. Collaborate with team members to develop and implement strategies for maximizing the state's financial resources and minimizing risk.
  5. Support the preparation and maintenance of financial records, reports, and documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with state and federal regulations.
  6. Attend meetings and training sessions to enhance knowledge and understanding of treasury operations and financial management.
  7. Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
  8. Collaborate with other departments and agencies to gather and analyze financial data and provide recommendations for improvement.
  9. Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism while handling sensitive financial information.
  10. Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment, working closely with experienced professionals to gain valuable knowledge and experience in the field of treasury management.

Job Qualifications
  • Currently Enrolled In A Bachelor's Or Master's Degree Program In Finance, Accounting, Economics, Or A Related Field.

  • Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Interpret Financial Data And Make Sound Recommendations.

  • Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Internal And External Stakeholders.

  • Proficient In Microsoft Excel And Other Financial Software, With The Ability To Create And Analyze Financial Reports.
