Job Description

Are you a highly skilled and experienced procurement specialist looking for a new challenge? The State of Arizona is seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist to join our team and play a critical role in managing our procurement processes. As a Senior Procurement Specialist, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of procurement projects and develop innovative strategies to optimize our purchasing practices. We are looking for a detail-oriented and driven individual with a deep understanding of procurement laws and regulations.   1. Develop and implement procurement strategies: Create and implement innovative procurement strategies to optimize the purchasing practices of the State of Arizona.
  2. Manage procurement processes: Oversee and manage all aspects of the procurement process, including sourcing, bidding, contract negotiations, and vendor performance evaluation.
  3. Ensure compliance with laws and regulations: Stay up-to-date with procurement laws and regulations and ensure that all procurement activities are in compliance with them.
  4. Conduct market research: Conduct thorough market research to identify potential vendors, evaluate their capabilities, and negotiate competitive pricing.
  5. Collaborate with stakeholders: Work closely with various departments and stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and develop effective solutions to meet those needs.
  6. Monitor budget and expenses: Monitor and analyze procurement budgets and expenses to ensure they are in line with organizational goals and objectives.
  7. Develop and maintain vendor relationships: Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure timely and quality delivery of goods and services.
  8. Train and mentor junior procurement staff: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior procurement staff to ensure their professional growth and development.
  9. Generate reports: Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, including vendor performance, cost savings, and compliance.
  10. Identify areas for improvement: Continuously review and improve procurement processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall performance.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In Procurement And Contract Management.

  • Proficiency In Procurement Software And Knowledge Of Procurement Regulations And Laws.

  • Strong Negotiation And Communication Skills.

  • Experience In Developing And Implementing Procurement Strategies To Facilitate Cost Savings And Efficiencies.
